What is Required for Remote Notarization

To be notarized each signer will be required to complete identity verification. First step is Knowledge Based Assessment based on individual database information. Second step requires government issued photo identification (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.) which will be compared with a live-selfie image of the person.

What documents can be notarized online?

Most documents that require notarization are eligible for online notarization so long as the documents are intended for use in the United States. Online Notaries can not apostille or certify documents through the online system.

Is Remote Online Notarization Secure?

Remote Online Notarization through the Proof/Notarize Platform is absolutely secure. The whole process requires stringent identification verification, as well as secure systems. The whole notary process occurs on video which is stored for at least five (5) years. The documents are locked and sealed with digital certification.

Does location of signer matter?

As long as the signer has access to the internet and verifiable identity, location does not matter. The only location requirement is that the Notary Public be physically present in his/her commissioned State. So, any state, any country, you can have your documents signed and notarized.

What Device is required?
